Microblading

Microblading

Have thin, sparse, unnoticeable eyebrows? Tired of always having to pencil in your brows? Microblading may be an option! Microblading ins a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment that gives you the appearance of beautifully enhanced designer brows.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that corrects or reconstructs the brows. We use a fine Microblading pen consisting of tiny needles that give the individual strokes (hairs) one by one. We then make micro size scrapes into the skin (epidermis) while inserting cosmetic pigments giving a semi-permanent hair stroke. With this procedure, we include mapping to the perfect eyebrow shape of your liking and custom make the desired color of your choice. This process can help define, shape, and give fullness in the eyebrows. Results can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months on average, but this also depends on other factors such as pigment color, skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.

How long are the results?

Microblading is a semi-permanent treatment, and rarely permanent. Results typically last up to 6-18 months. Hair color, skin type, after-care, and lifestyle also affect longevity of the results. We highly recommend having a touch up anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on results.

Is it Painful?

We use medical numbing agents but using no numbing cream is an option. Patients who opt out of numbing cream say the procedure discomfort is minimal, but that varies depending on individual pain tolerance. We will do everything we can to ensure you are comfortable during the treatment.

Is it Safe?

All our pigments are cosmetic grade, and from a reputable brand. Luckily, we have the ability to customize our colors meaning we can get the perfect look for you.

What happens during a Consultation?

Our Medical Aesthetician will discuss with you the look you are trying to achieve using our VISIA skin analysis, as well as going over medical history to guarantee you are a good candidate for this cosmetic procedure and any questions you may have before the big day!

What happens during a Microblading treatment?

The Medical Aesthetician will map out the desired look you are aiming to achieve. We considering the brow shape, your facial structure, and your ideal look. Once we decide on the brow form, we consult on the color. Our pigment brand carries 6 different colors all the way from Grey to Ebony, giving us the ability to reach any natural hair color. A topical numbing cream is applied that stays on for about 20 minutes, and then a special tool is used to make small, hair-shaped incisions into the epidermis portion of the skin. The shallow cuts are filled with the pigments selected by the patient. The treatment takes about 2 hours, giving us plenty of time to get the optimal look.

What is the difference between Microblading and Traditional permanent makeup?

One of the most obvious differences between microblading and permanent make-up is one is semi-permanent and the other is permanent. Microblading is great for those who want a natural, soft look without the commitment. Microblading is also meant to stay above the dermis layer on the skin, making it fade anywhere between 6 to 18 months.

What is the Recovery time?

The brows will completely heal after about 2-4 weeks. During the healing process you may notice the brows get much darker, scab or flake. These side effects are completely normal for the healing process, and once you hit the 2-4 week mark the true brow color and look will be complete. Our medical Aesthetician will hand you an aftercare sheet to take home, which includes what to expect, how to take care, and when the healing process should subside.

What is a Touch-Up?

A touch-up treatment is recommended for everyone. This consist of another treatment going over the same hair strokes made before. This helps maintain color, and gives a more crisp har stroke appearance.

What is aftercare like?

After care may vary depending on the skin type. Recommended cleansers and ointments will be listed by the Medical Aesthetician depending on individual. Remember, the most important factor in microblading is aftercare. It is your responsibility to take care of the eyebrow area for the first 2-4 weeks. After the healing process is compete you can continue to your regular routine.
